Snippet Editor 2.1.0.0

  • Includes improved search capabilities.
  • Supports Visual Studio 2005, 2008 and now also Visual Studio 2010.


Notes:
  • requires .NET 3.5 or later
  • To edit snippets in the default location which is Program Files sub tree, you need to launch the editor with administrator privileges on Vista, 2008 or Windows 7. You can still view the snippets and edit your own snippets without running as admin.

I was seriously up to speed and using my own snippets in far less time than it took to read a basic explanation of using snippets using Visual Studio 2010, which I didn't understand anyway. This was a very useful tool for me.

It would be good to load the folders from the "documents\VisualStudio\CodeSnippets" automatically. There is a chance to improve the add folders functionality.

A very useful program for Visual Studio 2008 Pro. Instead of putting the snipplets in the tool box of VS 2008 Pro. You can use this little program. What I did was to use the external tools setup in the tools menu to incoperate this little useful tool in VS 2008 Pro menu system. I would have bought you a beer if I had a PayPal account :-)
